Chicago session ace bassist Wally Hustin recently was hired by DEACON BLUES, they’re America’s premier Steely Dan tribute experience. The group began when eleven Chicago-area studio and stage musicians agreed to form a jazz-rock vehicle to honor the music of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen.
Wally has recorded or performed with Dave Mason (Traffic), Sons Of Cream featuring Kofi Baker (yes Ginger’s son), Roister (Zappa Alumni), Dave Uhrich (rock fusion), Mike Stern (Miles Davis), Vinnie Colaiuta (Zappa/Sting), Kenny Aronoff (Melancamp/John Fogerty), Todd Sucherman (Styx), Howard Levy Bela Fleck), Deacon Blues (Steely Dan tribute), John Denver, Phoebe Snow, Rob Mullins (LA jazz artist), Tony Guerrero (LA jazz artist), David Benoit (smooth jazz), Heligoats, Chuchito Valdez (latin jazz), Robert Irving III (Miles Davis), Eric Levy (Night Ranger), Mecca (Frontier Records), Carvin Winan (gospel), Saint Sabina Levites (gospel), Piotr Bal and many more.
